How we do it

A new lawn is only as good as what is underneath it. We strip the old grass and weeds, break up compacted clay, bring in a sandy underlay where the drainage needs it, level the area and roll out fresh turf the day it is cut.

For lawns that are mostly fine but patchy, we repair instead: dead spots from dog urine, summer scorch or lawn grubs are cut out and re-turfed, and bumpy lawns are top-dressed with a sandy soil mix and levelled so the next mow is smooth.

What is included

  • Old lawn and weeds removed
  • Soil prepared and levelled
  • Turf supplied and laid
  • Patch repair of dead spots

In Glenmore Park conditions

Kikuyu, couch and soft-leaf buffalo all handle Glenmore Park summers. Buffalo copes best with shade from a neighbour's second storey; couch and kikuyu need full sun but recover fastest from dogs and kids. We help you choose before you buy.

When and how often

Turf laid from September to March roots in within two to three weeks. Autumn is fine too. Winter-laid turf survives but stays dormant until spring.

Turf questions

How long before I can walk on new turf?

Light foot traffic after about two weeks, and normal use after three to four, once the roots grip.

How much should I water new turf?

Every day for the first week, then every second day, then twice a week. We leave you a written plan.

Can you fix the bumps in my lawn?

Yes. Top dressing in spring, with the low spots built up gradually, levels a lawn without killing it.
